Welcome to The Grateful Healing Project!

I wanted a way to give back to the community, and our elders in particular, so I decided to use the knowledge that I learned from them to create gifts that would heal and nourish their bodies and spirits. I hope to be able to distribute the medicine to our elders in the community who might need a little pain relief. In the future, I hope to expand to more products that will help heal those who came before me.

The plan is pretty simple. I’m harvesting local plants. Processing them into healing products. And distributing those products to people in need.

This blog will document the project along the way. You’ll find posts about the foraging and harvesting of materials, pages with recipes for products, and listings for distribution venues. There is a page dedicated to transparency outlining and documenting all costs associated with the products, as well as all donation that might be received.

I’m starting with Devil’s Club Salve. I have finished the first batch. It was given to Tlingit & Haida’s Community & Behavioral Services Healing Center for their Community Health Vending Machine located at the Edward K. Thomas building, and the Tlingit & Haida Elder Connection located at the Gajaa Hit.

The second batch will be released sometime in September. Please subscribe for updates.
